Exploring L-Cysteine's Potential: Alleviating Common Hangover Symptoms
L-cysteine:
L-cysteine is an amino acid that also acts as an antioxidant. It is used for diabetes, strokes, cancer, and many other conditions. L-cysteine has also been studied for its effects on hangover symptoms. A randomized, double-blind and placebo-controlled study was done to see the effect of L-cysteine on hangover symptoms.
Participants received a placebo or a tablet containing L-cysteine. Those who received the tablet containing L-cyteine either received a dose of 600mg or 1200mg. The results showed that L-cysteine relieved hangover symptoms including headaches, nausea, and anxiety. Additionally, the tablet with 1200mg was proven to be more effective than the 600mg one.
